Community Action Projects

The power of citizenship in today’s global society begins at home and it is vital for positive youth development. The character of individuals as members of society, their behavior and their willingness to take action, are all fundamental to this power. These are precisely the characteristics that the Stella’s Child Class of graduates are exemplifying. In an effort to grow empathy and to foster the youth’s identities as engaged citizens, the CAP program provides opportunities for them to gain an understanding of how they fit into society and how they have the ability to help solve societal problems.

Designed to implement the skills developed through our Life Skills Academy, Entrepreneurship, and FirstEmploy programs, the Community Action Projects allow the youth to lead, develop, implement, and evaluate, under the guidance of skilled mentors and staff, a community-centric action program in their home village. Projects will focus areas include:

• Environmental Protection

• Waste Management & Recycling

• Poverty & Hunger

• Education

• Social Justice
